About Maria Batlle

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

Hi! My name is Maria Batlle and I am currently a freshman at Northeastern University. I am majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration. During this pandemic, I am quarantined with my family in our home in Wellesley, Massachusetts. My biggest fear of this pandemic is just how much is unknown to us as a population.

Favorite thing to do during quarantine?

During this quarantine, my favorite thing to do has been walking my dog and playing with her. Being inside all of the time has given me cabin fever so being able to take her outside and seeing her so happy has made my days just a little bit better.

Batlle's Tip About Quarantine:

Get up early and be active. Being inside all day can take a toll on your body so exercising and going outside for a walk can be really good for your mental and physical health.

How have I been feeling throughout the past six weeks?

When all of this began, I was pretty content being at home and spending time with my family. Six weeks into this quarantine, I feel frustrated and anxious. I took my education on campus and spending time outside for granted. Now, I am really looking forward for this to end so that my life can return to some kind of normalcy and everyone can be healthy.

Something I am looking forward to once this is all over:

Being able to hang out and hug my best friends! Having the opportunity to go back to Northeastern and see all of my friends from freshman year is very exciting.
