About COVID-19

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered strain of coronavirus. The majority of people that are infected with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring any special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or cancer have much higher chances of contracting the virus. This virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Currently, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for this disease. The uncertainty surrounding this disease provides a foundation for the fear and panic that is consuming people around the world. From stocking up on groceries, hand sanitizer and toilet paper to fighting each other for basic necessities while in line.
